Lisa and I really do enjoy all types of photo shoots here at the Studio. Each session brings new faces, conditions and stories to capture. One of our favorites is Newborn sessions. Maybe it's because both of us are parents with each having 3 boys. Maybe it's because Lisa just had her first grandchild last year, maybe it never gets old holding a week old. The answer is yes, yes & yes! Newborn sessions take 2-4 hours depending on how cooperative the model is. Spending that amount of time with the new parents, siblings and the new baby rock star give us plenty of time to make the session one to remember...for the family and ourselves. Monday we had the Saric's in studio. Baby William was 7 days old, brother Andrew with Mom & Dad - Jeannine & Matt. Their first experience with us at the Studio. Our plan was to create sets for baby William that the family could connect with. Matt is an avid fisherman, brother Andrew is a super hero fan and plays soccer, Jeannine brought some items from her childhood including a Tonka truck that has memories associated with it. Each of these sessions is unique, and despite much planning are controlled by the newborn. A session with no fussing is really rare, but William was a star. From start to finish he was up for anything. Brother Andrew was equally into the session, participating himself. What makes these sessions so much for for Lisa and I is no two are alike. This one went flawlessly. Others take up 95% of the time fussing, and a small window of creating the images. The end result is always the same tho...fun, rewarding and a sense of accomplishment. Infants change so fast and capturing images that will be looked at for a lifetime do become more valuable with each passing day. Being a part of that process does not get old!
